Orphanage Building and Orphan Support
From the initial stages of the vision that led to the founding of Word Life Connection, an area of focus has always been to reach out to orphans and other children who do not have the privilege of growing up in a loving home with their parents. Without a loving, supportive environment, many children, filled with potential, end up becoming victims of their circumstances, rather than victors over those circumstances.
Over the past several years, our founder, Rodrick Walters, has become a passionate advocate for children. A father of three, he recognizes the importance of a loving father and mother in the lives of children. In many cases, for different reasons, children do not have the privilege of having the loving support of their parents as they go through the different stages of life.
In the case of orphans, these children are particularly vulnerable. Without a mother or father to help guide them, many orphans see life as an ever-present obstacle that they can never overcome. For this reason, Word Life Connection is committed to improving the lives of orphans by helping to build orphanages and supporting those who already care for orphans.
Mombasa Children’s Provision Project
We have established a relationship with Mombasa Children’s Provision Project, based in Mombasa, the third largest city in the East African nation of Kenya. Led by Rev. Barnet Kapten, who, along with his wife Margaret have supported and mentored orphans for over three decades, this ministry is doing a great work in the lives of orphans. Through their efforts, many have gone on to lead successful lives, with advanced college degrees and raising families of their own.
The Mombasa ministry opportunity is of particular significance because the organization with which we are partnering has already acquired a parcel of land. We are committed to partner with them in the building of an orphanage on the land – one that not only provides a safe, loving environment for boys and girls to grow but one that also teaches them life skills to become responsible, productive members of society.
Guyana Orphan Support
We have established a relationship with 4 orphanages in the South American nation of Guyana. Our present commitment enables us to not only feed approximately 250 orphans on a monthly basis but also to provide them with clothing and much-needed school supplies.
In addition to the tangible support that we provide, we also recognize that their most important need is to have a relationship with Jesus Christ. We have, therefore, partnered with committed servants of God, Prophet Rohan Rambally and local Pastor Nazam Bhaccus who, along with a team of volunteers, serve these orphans. They not only provide them with meals but also lead them in worship and in teaching and preaching the good news of the Gospel.
Other Opportunities
In addition to the Kenya and Guyana projects, we look to support different ministries around the globe – particularly in the developing world – that make a positive impact on the lives of orphans.
To our founder, Rodrick Walters, this is the most important aspect of Word Life Connection because it directly impacts young lives and shapes and molds them to be used for the Kingdom of God. He says, “It’s a noble call to help the helpless and give them reason to hope. With food, shelter, clothing, education, and the right spiritual foundation, we know that each child can grow to live a life of meaning and purpose, contributing in meaningful ways to our world. For this reason, we fully embrace this call.”

Please prayerfully consider how you can join us as we rescue some of the most vulnerable citizens of the planet that we share. We believe that a special reward awaits those who commit to make a lasting, transformative impact on the lives of these precious, young children of God.
